Parasitic GirlFlare Up: Live, Goldsmiths CCA, London, UK & Online
2025-2026

Shapelessness is my new kink
Carrying dandelions to keep them safe
Loving you in the fog, cold breath and I’m here
Loving you in all of the ways we exist for each other,
In all the ways we don’t exist for each together
Tell that to every girl who births a world
To make this one a little more hospitable.

Sensual communion is my new kink,
It’s sexy that everything is interconnected.
A soaked tangled mess,
Even if those tangles are broken and desire is a wrongish frame
Throwing itself against all the bodies
Trying to make peace, wanting themselves away.
Breathing makes me aware of how implicated we are in each other.
It’s something we do.
Upheaval is a phone conversation
It’s hard to connect with distance, but it’s true.
If the air gets too toxic, we will not survive.
This is also true.

Live performance, video. 10 mins.

Parasitic Girl is a live poetry & video performance and 'meme diary' hosted from a personal laptop desktop. Drawn from Clarice Lispector’s 1942 novel Near to the Wild Heart in which the narrator confessionally recalls dreams of being “above the rain”, the performance roots itself in encounters of touch, queer histories and Sainsbury's own experiences of her body. Merging poetry reading, digital archives and autobiography, Parasitic Girl explores this through various states including climate crisis anxiety, trans sociality, desire, dysphoria, the category of human in relation to the weather and desire to become almost-nothing, to become mist.
